Housing Stabilization
The objective is to be intentional about reducing the root causes of housing evictions. Housing stabilization is essential for people wellbeing and ability to navigate society in a positive manner. We prioritize housing stability by providing growth opportunities to residents’ physical and mental wellbeing. Our approach is to connect the dots, building on corresponding
correlation of tying one life skill to another life skill. For example, we equip residents with financial literacy then improve their self worth to reduce impulse spending. Smoking cessation flows into the art therapy program which transitions to cooking classes to experience the restoration of residents’ taste buds. The book club inspires residents to complete their GED, and then to engage in community service to help young readers at the youth center. Each program and services provided to residents has an overarching purpose for residents growth and development. A thriving resident is likely to remain housed and at a positive state in their lives.
